2. Subvenciones para fotógrafos profesionales y estudiantes – The Alexia Grants

Applications for the 2013 grants will be accepted beginning Nov. 15, 2012.

The Alexia Foundation offers production grants to students and professional photographers to give them the financial ability to produce substantial stories that drive change in the effort to make the world a better place. Students also get scholarship opportunities. See rules below for details on each.

3. Becas para Doctorado en Protección del Medio Ambiente – Alemania

German Federal Foundation for the Environment (DBU): Doctoral scholarship

Programme Description

With an endowment of approximately 1.7 billion EUR, the German Federal Foundation for the Environment (Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt, DBU) is one of the largest foundations in Europe. Besides sponsoring projects, the DBU also awards scholarships to support young scientists. Entitled to apply are highly qualified young scientists who work on research subjects with a clear relation to current environmental issues and who contribute to solving these issues through their work. 60 doctoral scholarships are awarded every year. Foreign applicants are required to demonstrate, among other things, a good command of German. The scholarship amounts to 940.00 EUR per month, and is paid for a maximum of 3 years. In addition to the grant, a monthly standard allowance of 210.00 EUR is available for material and travel expenses. Further funds may be granted on application.

4. Becas para PhD relacionado con Ciencias Físicas, Ingeniería o Tecnología dirigidas a mujeres de países en desarrollo

The Schlumberger Foundation is accepting applications for the 2013–2014 Faculty for the Future Fellowships:

- From September 10th to November 16th 2012 for new applications (at 12 PM Central Time);
- From September 10th to November 9th for renewal applications (at 12 PM Central Time).

The Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future program, launched in 2004, awards fellowships to women from developing and emerging economies to pursue PhD or post-doctoral studies in the physical sciences*, engineering and technology at leading universities abroad*.

5. Becas Chevening para estudios de posgrado en el Reino Unido

Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarships programme. Established in 1983, these scholarships support study at UK universities – mostly one-year Masters’ degrees – for students with demonstrable potential to become future leaders, decision-makers and opinion formers.

Chevening Scholarships are for talented people who have been identified as potential future leaders across a wide range of fields, including politics, business, the media, civil society, religion, and academia.

6. Becas para cursos de verano de alemán dirigidas a estudiantes de pregrado y maestría en cualquier área – Alemania

University Summer Courses offered in Germany for Foreign Students and Graduates

These grants are awarded to enable students and graduates to attend German language and area studies courses plus special language/terminology courses that are offered by state (public) or state-recognised German higher education institutions and by affiliated language schools. Course providers and course offers are available on the DAAD homepage:


The grants run for at least 18 days of course with a minimum of 25 hours of teaching per week. Courses are taught in German (language of instruction) and are held in the summer months (from May at the earliest) during the recess period at German universities.
The grants cannot be extended.

7. Concurso de fotografía y video “Saber Leer Cambió Mi Vida” 2012

La Alianza Mundial por la Educación invita a participar en el primer concurso de fotografía y video: “Saber Leer Cambio Mi Vida”, en el cual se podrá participar hasta el próximo 28 de noviembre de 2012.

Lo único que los interesados en participar deben hacer es enviar una fotografía o un video que muestra cómo la lectura ha impactado su vida o la vida de alguien que usted conoce.

9. Subvenciones para jóvenes conservacionistas – Conservation Leadership Programme

The CLP has been helping young conservationists to achieve their goals and move into positions of influence within the conservation sector for more than 25 years. We are currently soliciting applications for 2013 Conservation Awards. These awards are aimed at early-career conservationists (less than 5 years professional experience in the conservation sector). Successful applicants will: 1.) develop the knowledge, skills and abilities of team members; 2.) implement a focused, high-priority conservation project combining research and action; and 3.) contribute to the long-term success of local conservation efforts.

10. Becas para programa de liderazgo para jóvenes que quieran generar cambio social a través del teatro – Alemania


Are you excited about reaching out to people through the medium of theater? Do you want to start a venture that will impact people in your home country? Or do you know passionate actors, social workers, activists or interested young people who share this dream?

The D&F Academy offers fully funded fellowships for our Theater Project in Hamburg, Germany, with author and director Nils Daniel Finckh.

Applications are now open to young people aged 18 and 28 worldwide. The one-year program is an opportunity for both professionals and young people who believe in change through creative processes and the power of theater action.
